Armando Valdes

Armando Valdes, also known as Corporal Armando Valdés Garrido, was a Chilean army corporal who led a military patrol involved in a famous UFO encounter on April 25, 1977, near Pampa Lluscuma, Chile.[1][2][3] While investigating two bright violet lights descending from the sky, he vanished for 15 minutes, reappearing with five days' beard growth, in a trance, and uttering the words 'You will never know who we are or where we come from. But we will return.'[2][3][4] The incident, witnessed by six soldiers, drew media attention and military investigations, with President Pinochet prohibiting further interviews.[2][3] Valdes later revisited the site in 2002 for research and reported a second sighting in 1980.[2][4]
