Francis H. Clauser (1913–2013) was a preeminent American fluid dynamicist and aeronautical engineer whose career significantly advanced the theoretical and practical understanding of turbulence, boundary layers, and aerodynamic design. He held distinguished professorships at Johns Hopkins University and the California Institute of Technology, where his research on fluid mechanics established foundational principles still applied in modern aerospace engineering. Throughout his extensive career, which included service on various national advisory committees, Clauser maintained a focus on conventional physical sciences and atmospheric physics. He is not publicly known to have participated in investigations, research, or public commentary regarding unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), unidentified flying objects (UFOs), or anomalous aerospace observations. Consequently, his significance within the UAP field is negligible, with his scientific reputation resting entirely upon his contributions to established aerodynamics and fluid physics.
