Mona Stafford
Mona Stafford (born 1939) is an American UFO abductee and witness central to the Stanford Abduction case of January 6, 1976, in Kentucky. On her 36th birthday, Stafford and two companions, Louise Smith and Elaine Thomas, reported encountering a large metallic disc-shaped object with a glowing dome while driving on Highway 78 near Stanford, Kentucky. The women claimed to have been taken aboard a spacecraft and examined by alien entities that communicated telepathically. All three passed polygraph tests administered by Lexington police, and their accounts were investigated by UFO researcher Jerry Black and hypnotherapist Dr. Leo Sprinkle. The case became one of the most documented alien abduction claims of the 1970s, with corroborating witness testimony from local residents who reported seeing UFO activity in the area.
