Wayne Sulo Aho
Wayne Sulo Aho (1916-2006) was an American contactee and UFO enthusiast born in Washington state to Finnish homesteaders. One of seven children, he worked most of his life as a logger. In 1957, at George Van Tassel's Giant Rock convention, Aho claimed a telepathic summons led him to a saucer landing, receiving a mission from extraterrestrials. He founded Washington Saucer Intelligence, lectured widely with articles in newspapers and UFO periodicals, and associated with Otis T. Carr in a failed flying saucer venture, from which charges were dropped after Carr's fraud conviction. Institutionalized briefly in 1961, he later established the New Age Foundation and Cathedral of the Stars in 1975, publishing accounts of his contacts. Known as 'Major Aho,' he corresponded with officials and linked to groups like NYSIB under FBI scrutiny, fading into obscurity by the 1980s.
