TheBlackVault: FBI Paranormal Files Archive Released
The Black Vault published a comprehensive collection of FBI records concerning paranormal phenomena and historical contactee cases. The archive contains sixty PDF files detailing investigations into figures like George Adamski and Orfeo Angelucci. These documents reveal government monitoring of UFO claimants during the Cold War era.
Background
On July 31, 2025, The Black Vault released 'The Paranormal Collection,' a digital archive of Federal Bureau of Investigation files obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests. The publication encompasses approximately sixty individual PDF documents totaling several hundred megabytes, covering prominent individuals from the 1950s contactee movement.
The collection features extensive files regarding George Adamski, including 286 pages documenting the Polish-American claimant who alleged photographic evidence of spacecraft and meetings with Nordic extraterrestrials. Materials also cover Wayne Sulo Aho, a World War II veteran who toured California lecture circuits in 1957 claiming extraterrestrial contact, and the Aetherius Society founded by George King.
Notably, the archive indicates that investigative records concerning Orfeo Angelucci, who claimed 1952 encounters with transparent humanoid beings, were destroyed by Bureau personnel in 2009. The release provides researchers with primary source documentation of federal surveillance activities targeting civilian UFO organizations and individual claimants during the mid-twentieth century.
