Rapuzzi CE3 Encounter Near Udine

In 1947, amateur geologist Luigi Rapuzzi was searching for fossils near the Chiarsò stream in the Carnic Alps north of Udine, Italy, when he discovered a lens-shaped metallic craft wedged into a rock crevice roughly six meters above the water. Approaching the object, he encountered two small beings with green skin wearing dark-blue overalls. One of the beings aimed a device mounted on its belt at Rapuzzi, instantly paralyzing him — he could not move his head, arms, or legs, though he remained fully conscious.

The beings inspected Rapuzzi at close range before re-entering the craft and departing. The encounter profoundly affected Rapuzzi, who went on to write science fiction novels under a pseudonym inspired by the experience. The case was later investigated by Spanish researcher Pablo Villarrubia Mauso, who documented it alongside other European CE3 cases involving paralysis effects similar to those reported in the Valensole encounter of 1965.

Background

On August 14, 1947, Luigi Rapuzzi, a factory worker in the Udine province of northeastern Italy, reported a close encounter of the third kind — one of the earliest documented CE3 cases in post-war Europe. Rapuzzi described observing a disc-shaped craft on or near the ground, along with humanoid occupants.
