Project Blue Book is closed
Background
The Condon Committee at the University of Colorado recommends shutting down Project Blue Book - the UFO topic has no scientific substance. The Air Force formally ends the program. Hynek publicly criticizes the Condon Report: pivotal cases had been ignored, 30 percent remained unexplained even by the report itself - despite its 'nothing to it' verdict. The dividing line is drawn. Hynek begins building his own research track in parallel.
