The University of Colorado (CU), founded in 1876 in the United States, is an academic institution renowned for its involvement in UAP/UFO research through the Condon Committee. In 1966, the U.S. Air Force commissioned physicist Edward U. Condon, a former CU professor, to lead a scientific study at CU Boulder assessing whether UFOs indicated extraterrestrial origins. The resulting Condon Report (1968), spanning 14,885 pages with 59 case studies from 1947–1968, involved 37 scientists and analyzed categories like photographic, radar/visual, and astronaut reports. It concluded UFOs warranted no further investigation, enabling the Air Force to terminate Project Blue Book. Critics noted one-third of cases remained unexplained. CU holds the report's archives. Today, CU Boulder remains active in space sciences, though no major ongoing UAP programs are noted.
