North Dakota: Sandra Larson Abduction — Three Witnesses, Missing Time

Sandra Larson, her daughter Jackie, and a man named Terry left Fargo at 3:15 a.m. heading west toward Bismarck on I-94. At 3:30 a.m. they heard thunder 'louder than any imaginable,' the sky lit up, and eight to ten glowing orange balls descended. Memories became vague — Jackie moved from front to back seat unnoticed. They had about an hour of missing time. Under hypnosis by APRO consultant Dr. Leo Sprinkle (University of Wyoming), Sandra recalled being taken aboard a UFO, stripped, and examined by a creature 'with elastic bandages around its head.' She also recalled a sharp instrument in her nose and her chronic sinus condition disappeared afterward. Multiple regression sessions hinted at repeat abductions. J. Allen Hynek met Sandra and told UPI he believed she 'seemed to live through a frightening experience.' Jerome Clark investigated and confirmed independent UFO reports to state police at the same time.

EXISTING SUMMARY: Sandra Larson, her daughter Jackie, and a man named Terry left Fargo at 3:15 a.m. heading west toward Bismarck on I-94. Sandra Larson, her daughter Jackie, and Terry experienced a possible abduction event while driving from Fargo, North Dakota, to Bismarck in the early morning hours of August 26, 1975. The three witnesses experienced missing time and recalled unusual phenomena, including glowing objects in the sky.

The Incident

At 3:15 a.m., Sandra Larson, her daughter Jackie, and a man named Terry departed Fargo, heading west on Interstate 94 towards Bismarck. Sandra was on her way to take a real estate exam. Around 3:30 a.m., they heard an extremely loud thunder-like noise, and the sky lit up. Eight to ten glowing objects, described as orange balls, descended.

Terry pulled the car over. The witnesses' memories became vague at this point. Jackie, who had been sitting in the front seat between Terry and Sandra, was suddenly in the back seat, though no one remembered her moving. They continued driving and encountered another vehicle. Sandra asked the occupants of the other car if they had seen the event. The occupants confirmed they had, but refused to stop, stating they were "getting the hell out of here." The three travelers then realized they had experienced approximately one hour of missing time.

Investigation

Sandra and Jackie underwent hypnosis by APRO consultant Dr. Leo Sprinkle, who was the Director of Counseling and Testing at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. Under hypnosis, Sandra recalled being taken aboard a UFO. She described being stripped and given a medical exam, including her sexual organs, by a creature. The creature was described as having "elastic bandages for a head, or elastic bandages around its head." Sandra also recalled a sharp instrument being pushed up her nose and claimed that her chronic sinus condition was related to the event.

Significance

The Sandra Larson abduction case is significant as it involves multiple witnesses, missing time, and alleged physical examination by alien entities. The case gained further attention due to the involvement of Dr. Leo Sprinkle, a well-known figure in UFO abduction research. The incident is one of several abduction cases that occurred in the American West during this period, suggesting a possible cluster of such events.
