Background

Publication and Thesis In May 1977, Leonard H. Stringfield released his book Situation Red: The UFO Siege!, arguing that US armed forces had recovered alien vehicles and potentially corpses from crash sites. The work quickly drew responses from numerous individuals claiming direct knowledge of such recoveries.

Witness Contacts Dozens of supposed eyewitnesses reached out to Stringfield with accounts of downed UFOs or recovered extraterrestrials. Among them was a physician known as Doctor X, who reported performing examinations on alien remains at a prominent medical center in eastern United States.

Medical Examinations Stringfield later met Doctor X and his associate Doctor Y, the latter having analyzed alien tissue microscopically at the facility. The beings measured about 1 to 1.4 meters tall, weighed roughly 18 kilograms, featured oversized heads, slim bodies, elongated limbs, tan or gray stretchy skin like that of reptiles, clear bodily fluids without red blood cells, pupil-less slanted eyes, prominent brows, nostril-like ear openings, tiny noses, narrow mouths, and lacked teeth.

Significance Doctor X later evaded further inquiries from Stringfield. This event marked an early push in ufology for crash retrieval narratives, influencing later research despite lack of verifiable proof (Source: Eberhart p.842; UFOEv II 593; Graff 246).
