Skinwalker Ranch Staff Member Suffers Directed-Energy Brain Injury

Around 2017, a member of the Skinwalker Ranch staff in the Uintah Basin, Utah suffered severe physical injuries after an apparent exposure to a directed high-energy beam. Medical physicist Dr. Jim Segala, who had deployed a sensor network covering the Skinwalker Ranch region and worked with Dr. Harold Puthoff at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Austin, was called in alongside CIA physician Dr. Kit Green to investigate the case.

The patient initially showed a sudden change in personality, severe head and ear pain, nosebleeds, and subsequently a large swelling at the back of the skull β€” visible on X-ray β€” consistent with internal cranial trauma from an energetic source rather than any reported physical accident. Segala and Green concluded the injury stemmed from a high-energy beam that had entered the skull from above at an angle in the low gamma to high X-ray range, depositing its energy inside the brain without damaging the exterior of the skull. The energy pulse was extremely brief but of considerable magnitude.

A DTI-MRI scan revealed axonal bleeding in the brain β€” the same diagnostic marker found in Havana Syndrome patients among US diplomatic staff in Cuba. Segala's team identified two further individuals in the Uintah Basin region with identical axonal injuries, reinforcing the connection. Segala noted that the patient reported experiencing a sense of receiving instructions at the moment of the incident, which he tentatively interpreted as a test of compliance. The patient had been instructed to perform tasks on the ranch and to travel to California.

Segala's sensor network β€” equipped with gamma and microwave radiation detectors, gravitation vector sensors, and other instruments β€” had recorded a large electromagnetic spike coinciding with the timeframe of the incident, consistent with approximately 30 other corroborated cases in the region where anomalous sensor readings matched reported physical effects on individuals.

Fleischer presents the case as evidence of a close parallel between Havana Syndrome and UAP-related injuries: both involve directed energy causing internal brain damage without external trauma, both manifest at locations of heightened anomalous activity, and in both cases individuals reported hearing voice-like instructions at the moment of the event.

Background

In 2017, a member of the BAASS/AAWSAP research team at Skinwalker Ranch in Utah suffered a serious brain injury consistent with directed-energy exposure. This incident, one of the most severe documented injuries to a government-contracted researcher investigating anomalous phenomena, was formally reported to the DIA.

The Incident

The individual was conducting field observations when they experienced an acute onset of neurological symptoms.

This occurred while stationed at Skinwalker Ranch.

Investigation

Medical examination revealed white matter damage in the brain.

The damage was similar to that documented in Havana Syndrome cases and in Dr. Garry Nolan's studies of UAP experiencers.

Reporting and Significance

The incident was formally reported through AAWSAP channels to the DIA.

  • Represented one of the most severe documented injuries to a government-contracted researcher investigating anomalous phenomena.
  • Raised significant questions about the physical hazards associated with UAP proximity and investigation.
