Background

An email dated June 29, 2020, appears to have been composed by John Jay Stratton, who later directed the UAP Task Force. At this time, the investigative body was known as the Interagency Task Force rather than its subsequent official designation. The correspondence emerged within documents released by the Army Space and Missile Defense Command in 2023. This message represents one of the earliest documentary evidences of the task force's formation phase before Secretary of Defense formalization in August 2020. Via TheBlackVault.com (FOIA).
