Interagency Task Force
The Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), often referenced in interagency contexts, was a U.S. government entity established in August 2020 within the Office of Naval Intelligence. It coordinated interagency efforts across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and FBI to collect, analyze, and report on UAP data, addressing national security threats from unidentified aerial phenomena. Key activities included reviewing 143 reports, identifying one as a deflating balloon with high confidence, and noting 18 cases with unusual flight characteristics like stationary hovering or high-speed maneuvers without propulsion. The UAPTF produced a preliminary assessment in June 2021, recommending enhanced data collection, R&D investment, and formalized interagency processes. It was succeeded by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in 2022. No dedicated Wikipedia page exists for UAPTF; related info is under UFO Report.
