Brazilian Congressional UFO Hearing: Câmara dos Deputados Public Hearing on OVNIs
Brazilian politician Chico Alencar (PSOL) initiated a public UFO hearing at the Câmara dos Deputados in Brasília, aimed at improving implementation of Brazil's Freedom of Information Law regarding UFO records. Background
On September 16, 2025, the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies (Câmara dos Deputados) in Brasília held a public hearing on unidentified flying objects (OVNIs), initiated by politician Chico Alencar of the PSOL party. The hearing aimed to improve implementation of Brazil's Freedom of Information Law (LAI) regarding UFO records and conduct an objective examination of the UFO phenomenon.
Background This event followed a 2022 special session and the spring 2025 release of National Archive documents on approximately 900 UFO sightings from 1952-2023.
