Alexander Wendt
Alexander Wendt is a political scientist and professor at Ohio State University, known for his constructivist theory of international relations. His 2004 article 'Sovereignty and the UFO' (co-authored with Raymond Duvall) in Political Theory was one of the first peer-reviewed academic papers to seriously examine why the UFO phenomenon is systematically ignored by political science and security studies. He argues that state sovereignty constitutes a taboo against taking UFOs seriously, as their existence would challenge the anthropocentric foundations of modern political authority. He was a founding speaker at the Sol Foundation's 2023 inaugural symposium and delivered the keynote 'The Last Humans: UFOs and National Security' at the 2024 symposium.
