Alfredo Moacyr Uchoa
He was a retired Brazilian Army General who served extensively in the Brazilian Army and held the position of former deputy director of the Brazilian Military Academy, where he also taught as a professor of mathematics and engineering mechanics. He retired from military service prior to engaging in UAP research.
Beginning on July 22, 1968, Uchoa led systematic observations of anomalous aerial phenomena at a farm near Alexania, southwest of Brasilia. Over a period of ten months, he returned to the location between sixty and one hundred times, working with a group of eight professionals to conduct nightly observations of extraordinary phenomena.
Uchoa documented his encounters in Parapsicologia e Discos Voadores: O Caso Alexania, detailing spectacular sightings and naming all witnesses who verified the accounts, including military men and professionals. Based on these personal experiences, he publicly proclaimed knowledge of UFO reality.
He died on March 5, 1996, six weeks before his 90th birthday. His son, General Paulo Roberto de Miranda Uchoa, later collaborated with BAASS investigators during AAWSAP.
