Frederick C. Durant

Frederick C. Durant III (1916–?), American CIA officer, served as secretary to the Robertson Panel, a 1953 CIA-sponsored scientific review of UFO reports convened by physicist H.P. Robertson. He authored the Durant Report, summarizing the panel's findings that no evidence indicated UFOs posed a national security threat or were extraterrestrial in origin, recommending reduced public interest and monitoring of civilian UFO groups. The report influenced Air Force policies on UFO investigations, including Project Blue Book. Durant reviewed UFO files extensively and engaged with scientists globally on the topic. His work remains central to declassified U.S. government UFO/UAP historical records.
