Heinrich Nicoll is a Belgian gendarme known for his eyewitness account during the Belgian UFO wave of 1989-1990. On November 29, 1989, near Eupen, close to the German border, Nicoll and his partner Hubert Von Montigny were on routine patrol when they spotted a massive triangular object with bright headlights and an orange pulsating light illuminating a nearby field like a football stadium. The silent craft hovered low, emitted beams, and appeared to scan the ground before ascending rapidly. They pursued it by car toward Eupen and Henri-Chapelle, maintaining radio contact with dispatcher Albert Creutz, who also witnessed a light flash. Additional gendarmes, including Dieter Plummans and Peter Nicoll (no relation), reported similar sightings that night, marking the wave's start. No birth or death dates are publicly known. Nicoll's credible police testimony, amid radar confirmations and F-16 pursuits, bolsters the case's legitimacy. He has rejected skeptical explanations like blimps or aircraft, insisting on the object's extraordinary nature.
