Hubert von Montigny is a Belgian gendarme known for his involvement in the Belgian UFO wave of 1989-1990. On November 29, 1989, while on routine patrol near Eupen with partner Heinrich Nicoll, he witnessed a large triangular craft hovering stationary above a field, illuminating it with three powerful beams. The silent object was tracked via radio to Henri-Chapelle, where additional officers confirmed the sighting. This incident marked the start of thousands of reports investigated by the Belgian Air Force under Colonel Wilfried De Brouwer and SOBEPS. No electromagnetic effects were noted. Von Montigny's credible police testimony contributed key eyewitness evidence to one of Europe's most documented UAP events.
