Lloyd Bentsen

Lloyd Bentsen (1921-2006), American politician and U.S. Senator from Texas (1971-1993), had a peripheral connection to UAP research through the Cash-Landrum incident of December 29, 1980. Witnesses Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum, and her grandson encountered a diamond-shaped object emitting flames and heat near Dayton, Texas, followed by military helicopters. They contacted Senators Bentsen and John Tower for assistance, as documented in investigations by NASA engineer John Schuessler, Center for UFO Studies astronomer Allan Hendry, and Army Lt. Col. George Sarran, who found the witnesses credible. No evidence shows Bentsen's direct involvement in UAP programs, testimony, or publications.
