National Press Club UFO-Nuclear Weapons Hearing 2010

On September 27, 2010, researcher Robert Hastings and retired Captain Robert Salas organized a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., bringing together six additional military veterans to testify publicly about UFO incidents at nuclear missile sites. The event drew significant media attention as credentialed military witnesses described first-hand encounters in which unidentified aerial objects appeared to interfere with nuclear launch systems.

Lt. Colonel Dwynne C. Arneson, who in 1967 served as communications center director for the 28th Air Division at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, testified that he personally received a top-secret message stating that a UFO had deactivated several missile silos. Arneson held the role of Top Secret Control Officer for nuclear launch authorization codes, giving his testimony particular weight.

Retired Captain Robert Jamison, Malmstrom missile targeting officer from January 1965 to October 1967, corroborated the incidents. He recalled being dispatched to Oscar Flight in March 1967 after rockets went offline, only to be briefed that UFOs were operating near the silos. Standing orders dictated: if personnel sighted a UFO, they were to retreat to the nearest control center and report without approaching launch equipment. The entire Oscar Flight wing had simultaneously failed — a situation Jamison described as unprecedented. A UFO had reportedly landed in a ravine near the base while his team was held back for ninety minutes awaiting clearance.

Hastings had spent decades investigating UFO incidents near nuclear installations, interviewing eyewitnesses and verifying testimony. The 2010 press conference marked the first time so many veterans simultaneously went on record in a formal public setting about the connection between UFOs and nuclear weapons facilities.
