Background

On April 2, 2024, the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff declassified and released a memo written by Garry Reid concerning Luis Elizondo's claims. The document, originally marked TS/ORCON (Originator Control), had been withheld in previous releases. The classification was necessitated by three attachments: an information paper on AATIP, Elizondo's first resignation letter, and his second resignation letter. This release confirmed internal Pentagon discussions regarding Elizondo's role and departure from the UAP program.
