AOIMSG
The Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG) was a short-lived U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) government office established on November 23, 2021, under the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S)), succeeding the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF). Its key activities involved synchronizing DoD and interagency efforts to detect, identify, attribute, normalize reporting, analyze, and mitigate unidentified airborne objects, overseen by the Airborne Object Identification and Management Executive Council (AOIMEXEC). It aimed to integrate UAP processes into standing procedures and enhance transparency while protecting classified information. Criticized by figures like Luis Elizondo and Christopher Mellon for potential conflicts of interest. AOIMSG was superseded in July 2022 by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) per the FY2022 NDAA, marking its end as an active entity.
