Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG) Replaces UAPTF
The Pentagon announced the establishment of the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG), replacing the Navy-led UAP Task Force (UAPTF). The new group was placed under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, representing an expansion of UAP investigation responsibility. AOIMSG would later be superseded by AARO in July 2022.

Background
In November 2021, the Department of Defense established the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG) as a successor to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF). This transition reflected the growing institutional priority of UAP investigation.
