The National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) was a private research organization founded in 1995 by real estate mogul Robert Bigelow in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UAP Involvement
NIDS purchased Skinwalker Ranch in 1996 and conducted systematic investigations of UAP and paranormal phenomena there until approximately 2004.
Key Contributions
NIDS built the first comprehensive UAP database (1,570 cases) that later became the foundation for the CAPELLA Data Warehouse under AAWSAP/BAASS.
